Hello, and apologies for writing in English, but my German is unfortunately almost non-existent.
My question is the following: Is it possible to replace the factory speakers in a Ford Explorer EV equipped with the B&O sound system with either the Focal PS 165 SF 6.5-inch ("SlateFiber") speakers or the Helix Ci5 system, while keeping the original B&O amplifier?
Or would it be better to install something such as the Focal ISU 165 or IS VW 165, which are designed as relatively easy OEM upgrades for factory Volkswagen systems?
I already own a Musway M6V3-EVO DSP amplifier, but the problem is that my local Ford dealer is warning me that installing an additional amplifier may affect the vehicle warranty.
In my previous Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Musway was added without removing the factory amplifier. The original amplifier remained in place and supplied the signal to the Musway.
So, in practical terms: does the factory B&O amplifier have enough power to drive higher-quality aftermarket speakers such as the Focal PS 165 SF or Helix Ci5 properly, or would an OEM-style Plug & Play speaker such as the Focal ISU 165 / IS VW 165 be a better match?
Thank you very much in advance for any advice or experience you can share.
P.S. How much clearance is available behind the inner door panel? Would speakers with a mounting depth of 70 mm, such as the Focal Slatefiber, fit?
